Weekend Interest Rates

Mortgage rates rose slightly this week as the Dow hit 10,000 for the first time in a year and oil prices continued to climb. Freddie Mac reported that the average 30 year fixed rate loan rose to 4.92% from 4.87% a week earlier. Prosperity is offering a special rate on purchase loans. Remember, Prosperity is offering an additional $500 to first time buyers who are eligible for the $8,000 federal tax credit on all contracts ratified on or after September 26!
